More Than
a Program

Art Saves Lives is a movement dedicated to empowering youth through creativity, cultural identity, and mentorship.

For over twelve years, the program has brought internationally recognized artists to St. Maarten to work with local youth in an immersive arts intensive that changes lives.

Students receive professional-level training, develop discipline and confidence, and discover the power of their own voice.

Art Saves Lives doesn't just teach art. It builds leaders, creators, and cultural ambassadors.

Sankofa
Consciousness

"Looking back to move forward."

From the Akan tradition of Ghana, the Sankofa bird reaches backward to carry an egg forward, symbolizing the wisdom of learning from our past to build our future.

This year, students will explore African dance, drumming as ancestral language, storytelling traditions, mindfulness, and community values, all through the lens of identity, purpose, and healing.

Art Saves Lives didn't just teach me to dance. It showed me who I am. I came in shy and unsure of myself, and left ready to take on the world. This program is a lifeline.
